Our Data Source

All trademark data on tmarkmetric comes exclusively from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) — the federal agency responsible for administering U.S. trademark law.

USPTO trademark data is a public record under U.S. federal law. tmarkmetric does not create, modify, or editorialize any trademark record — we present the data as filed.

Our database is updated weekly from the USPTO's bulk data export program. The dataset includes trademark serial numbers, mark text, owner names, filing dates, Nice Classification classes, and registration status.

Brand Strength Score

Each brand owner on tmarkmetric receives a Brand Strength Score (A+ to F) based on a deterministic algorithm that evaluates:

  • ✓ Registration Status: Live, registered marks score higher than pending or abandoned filings.
  • ✓ Portfolio Breadth: Marks covering more Nice Classes indicate broader brand protection.
  • ✓ Portfolio Age: Older, maintained trademarks signal long-term brand investment.
  • ✓ Description Richness: Detailed goods/services descriptions indicate more deliberate IP strategy.
